A Safer Arkansas Starts with One Naloxone Kit at a Time

In an overdose situation, every second matters But for many rural Arkansans, emergency help can be 20, 30, even 40 minutes away. That’s why Arkansas Mobile Opioid Recovery (ARMOR) is equipping communities to save lives before EMS arrives.

We believe that everyone should have access to the tools and training they need to respond to an opioid overdose - whether you're a first responder, a parent, or a concerned neighbor. That’s the heart of our mission.

Naloxone Saves Lives - And We’re Getting It Into More Hands

Since launching in 2024, ARMOR has distributed more than 2,200 naloxone kits across Arkansas, each one paired with training on how and when to use it. These kits are going into the hands of:

  • Individuals at risk of overdose

  • Families and friends of loved ones with opioid use disorder

  • Local police departments and first responders

  • Faith-based groups and community organizations

We don’t just hand out a kit and walk away - we take the time to teach. Whether it’s a one-on-one lesson with a patient or a full group training with church leaders or firefighters, we’re focused on building confidence in overdose response.

Two Powerful Tools, One Clear Purpose

ARMOR offers two types of naloxone, depending on the situation:

  • 4mg intranasal Narcan®, which is easy to use and commonly found in public spaces

  • 5mg intramuscular Zimhi®, which provides a stronger dose and is often preferred by law enforcement or high-risk groups

By tailoring our distribution to the unique needs of each community, we’re strengthening Arkansas’s frontline response to

the opioid crisis - one life-saving kit at a time.

Every Naloxone Kit is a Second Chance

Equipping people with naloxone isn’t just about stopping an overdose - it’s about giving someone the chance to try again tomorrow. It’s about supporting recovery, even when it doesn’t happen in a straight line.

Our Peer Recovery Support Specialists - many of whom have walked this path themselves - have had over 2,500 interactions with patients and families, providing crisis support, coaching, and education that often includes naloxone training. It’s this one-on-one connection that transforms a kit into something much more powerful: hope.

Want to Get Trained? We Can Help.

Whether you’re a concerned parent, a pastor, a probation officer, or someone in recovery - we’ll come to you. Contact ARMOR to schedule a training or request a naloxone kit for your organization or event.

Because saving lives isn’t just about access to treatment - it starts with access to the tools that buy people time.
